This message is set to expire after 15 minutes or when the update procedure is complete. However, if you’re stuck on this message, you’ll have to manually remove it.
With that in mind, let’s look at how to solve the WordPress bug “another update is currently in progress.”
Setp 1 – Open phpMyAdmin
We need to manually remove ‘core_updater.lock’ file from your WordPress database. So you have to navigate to your cPanel account -> phpMyAdmin.

Select your WordPress database where you face this issue and Browse the wp_option table

Find the row with the option ‘core updater.lock’ and eliminate it by clicking the delete button next to it.
